October Fun 2012

On October 1st, 2012 our little family of four took advantage of the local Oktoberfest in St. Florian. We had been preparing Landon for weeks that he would get to see and sit on all kinds of Tractors - he was thrilled. I was just happy to enjoy a funnel cake :) Corinne really enjoyed the freedom of running around in the open field!

You can't catch me!

Green Acres is the place for me...
Landon's school had a field trip to McGee Farm. Corinne and I went to chaperone the trip...although Corinne had a plan of her own. She was super fussy and did NOT want to be held. Needless to say, I spent 2 hours chasing her around and dealing with her fussiness. But Landon really enjoyed himself. I tell you, that boy belongs on a farm!

Being October, we also enjoyed our local high school's Homecoming Parade. This year also just to happened to be my 10 year reunion! The class of 2002 had celebrated with dinner and dancing back in July, but several of my classmates and their families came out for the parade and the homecoming game. We love a parade! Landon waves proudly in hope of receiving some candy!

8 minutes long fireworks show at halftime!
To add to all of the other fun festivities this month, our neighborhood (which might I add is smack-dab in the middle of town) has about an 8 acre stretch of land where, unknown to us until this year, the owner hosts a bonfire and haunted hay ride. So this year, we joined in the fun!

Yes, that's a REAL coffin!

And last but certainly not least, we took another trip as a family out to McGee Farm to pick out our pumpkins. We didn't do any fancy carvings this year - we opted to paint instead. We picked out little pumpkins & Mommy just didn't think she could work any magic on them ;)  We're all looking forward to Halloween!!
