Summer Fun with Friends

This summer - to try and beat the heat - we have been doing all sort of stuff...INSIDE! haha! Seriously, I can not take the 100 degree weather, and neither can my kiddos! (And our pasty pale skin will prove it!) Some days we dont even go outside unless it is to get into the nice air conditioned car because It. Is. So. Freaking. Hot.

So, what have we been up to? At least once a week we get out with friends for lunch. Yes, Me with BOTH kids for lunch. It's necessary that I do this! I need some adult convo! In addition to lunch dates we also do play dates because that's always fun :) We are blessed to have lots of little friends in our neighborhood, and even some fabulous friends who even make the long trek to Florence from Tennessee just to play...and go shopping with us :)

Playdates with Reese...

Beep Beep! Who's got the keys to the Jeep?

Such sweet friends! :)

Play, lunch, and shopping with Lydia...

Little Miss Lydia...watching her Mommy eat lunch :)

Landon playing with his crayons! Such a good boy!

Corinne...looking rather uninterested...she was probably mad about the bow!

Landon: "Mommy, who's bigger, me or Lydia?"

Lydia - the super baby!

Our sweet kiddos

BFF's!
Corinne - 2 months old, Lydia - 4 months old

Play date with Landon's cousin, Alexander...

Choo-choo!

The boys were "hiding" from me in the tent. Good try boys, good try :)

However they LOVED the tunnel!

We also had so much fun this year at Fun Camp! Landon was a little older this time and we both felt more "part of the group" since we were familiar with the other kids in our group. The activities were right up Landon's alley, starting with a Bible story, continuing on to Science (where stuff would explode out of bottles!), then Music (my, does that boy love to sing...he actually would sing them more in the car  on our way home than in the class though!), Snack Time - yum!, sensory play (his fav? The sandbox!), and last but certainly not least - Arts & Crafts. The last day of fun camp they had a demonstrator from Home Depot and we built planters! Talk about one little happy boy!

Even Corinne joined us!...but she mostly slept :)

Painting rocks in Arts & Craft

Can you tell he's excited to use a hammer?

Focused!

Hammer that nail!

We have a membership to The Children's Museum, but the only day we can usually go is Friday, and Daddy is home on Friday. We try and use our "Daddy" time wisely :) So we may have to start going every other Saturday until our membership expires! :)
