It's December 25th at 7a.m. The alarm goes off and my husband looks at me and I look at him...we're patently waiting for Landon to come screaming out of his room saying, "MOMMY! DADDY! Let's go see if Santa came!" We wait, and wait, and wait. Let me explain: Landon is our child that is always up by 7:30...and that would actually be him "sleeping in" if he waited to grace us with his presence until 7:30. Now, where as Landon is an early riser, Corinne is our sleepy head. She sleeps until 9 or 9:30 every morning, so we actually had thought about letting Landon have his Christmas 1st, and then once Corinne got up letting her have hers. We were mistaken. As we waited for Landon to get up, we hear Corinne fussing in her room. It's 7:15a.m. Strange. I thought she might just be rolling over, but no. Wide awake. We were sure that her fussing had woken Landon up. We stood outside his door. Nothing. 8am rolls around, still no Landon.
Finally at 8:30 a.m. Josh and I decide we were going to have to wake him up! Corinne is only up for 2-3 hours before she needs a nap, so we needed to get this show on the road. (Secretly, Josh & I were just really anxious for Landon to see all his goodies!!) haha
After waking Landon up Josh says to him, "Landon, did you forget something this morning, Buddy?" Landon replied, "Oh! Yeah! Santa came!" So he hopped out of bed and we rushed down stairs. And he was right, Santa did come :)
Both of our children are so incredibly spoiled. Landon received a John Deere Gator, a custom painted tractor pop art for his room, construction eating utensils, new books, a LeapPad, a barn for his tractors, and of course, every imaginable tractor you could think of (that he doesn't already have...) Even tractor rainboots from Nana & Papa! Corinne got lots of goodies, too! She received a LeapFrog table, a walk-behind piano, her very first baby doll, a pink tractor from Landon, sippy cups, new books, new clothes, piggy paint, and lots of "girlie" things :)
No doubt this was the best Christmas. Ever. Just as Landon said, "Happy Birthday, Jesus! And thanks for the presents!" Josh and I decided that Jesus must be a John Deere kinda man :)
