MOPS Kick-Off

Thursday night was our MOPS Kick Off party for the 2010-2011 school year. This year the theme is "The Science of Mothering," so to go along with this years theme our MOPS team invited Dr. Olive, the head of the Science Department from UNA, to come and do some "magic tricks" for the kiddos. What the little ones thought was magic was merely just chemistry! But they all loved it...and secretly I did too! :) Just a few of the tricks up his sleeve included turning regular water from clear to blue - by only shaking the bottle, making fire turn into a rainbow of colors, making "Elephant Toothpaste"...which was peroxide, dish soap, and food coloring but in a HUGE cylinder and it quickly exploded once he added his "special ingredient" (yeast), and he saved the best for last - Liquid Nitrogen Ice Cream! Yummy! Like all of the children, Landon was intrigued!

In addition to the special guest there were lots families there to enjoy the food and fun. They had 3 bouncy houses placed around the room for the children to play in. One was geared more toward the babies with a small tunnel and area with plastic balls, the 2nd one (see pictures below) that was just right for Landon, and the third one had a HUGE slide on in. Landon so desperately wanted to get in that one, but he kept hesitating when he realized Josh & I would not be joining him! Landon enjoyed those so much that I am already thinking about having a "Bouncy 3rd Birthday" next year!! But who knows what he will be in to this time next year!

Come on Daddy, join me in the bouncy house!

Wheeeee!

Jumping! Jumping!

I LOVE MOPS!
