Last Wednesday my MOPS group had planned this great little play date at the local Fire Station. Of course since Landon can spot a firetruck a mile away, I knew that he would love to tour the fire station and sit in the firetrucks, so we cleared our schedule for the day to ensure we would have enough time to check it out! When we first got there Landon was a little over whelmed by the large fire trucks...well, either that or the other kids running around screaming in excitement! It took him about 15 minutes to warm up, but he ended up enjoying our visit. While we were there we were able to see where the firemen sleep when they're not fighting fire, where and what they eat at "Fat Boy Boulevard" (what they call their kitchen), and Fireman Joe even showed us the old timey fire alarm that, though they do not use it any more, still works if needed! Landon really enjoyed sitting and playing in the firetruck. He seemed to have the "deer in the headlights" look most of the time that we were there! Fireman Joe sat on the front of the firetruck with Landon so that I could get a picture, and my sweet little Landon looked over at him and started telling him all about the horn! He goes, "Horn - Woo Woo Woo Woo." Apparently Fireman Joe had been in this situation before because he responded with "Yes, that sounds just like the horn!" As we were getting ready to go Fireman Joe brought Landon a stuffed bunny rabbit, coloring book, and his very own Fireman Badge! Thank you, Fireman Joe!
